Anxiety
Anxiety
is experienced by all people at some time; it is a normal mechanism
whereby we are 'keyed up' for performance. However, if it occurs to
excess, it can cause panic or immobilise a person in which case it is
abnormal and harmful. 'Concern' might be a word that describes normal
levels of anxiety; it is accepted by the Bible (e.g. 2 Corinthains
11:28) and might be considered an aspect of responsibility. 'Worry'
describes unhelpful levels of anxiety and can be overcome by confident
faith in God's goodness to us (Read Philippians 4:6-7). This is
however, a growth process and Biblical counselling may be needed to
achieve 'confidant faith'. Greater levels of anxiety may be medical
issues and need medical consultation. For Biblical counselling you
can e-mail Wayne to arrange an appointment (Blue Mountains of NSW, only). You can down load the "Victory" Bible study which will help with confidence in God's care of you-refer to pages 6-9.
